LOTTE Group Human Rights Management Charter

We seek to effectuate human rights management that improves the lives of our customers as well as the society at large, contributing to the prosperity of humanity.
In order to be reborn as a company that adds value to human life,
we have enacted the LOTTE Group Human Rights Management Charter as a standard
for correct behavior and value judgment that all executives and employees are required to observe for business affairs.

The Charter is based on international human rights principles and standards,
such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs),
UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), and OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
We pledge to adhere to and practice this Charter with integrity.

  • We shall respect the dignity and worth of all human beings and prioritize human rights management.
  • We shall adhere to international human rights standards and norms, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), and OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
  • We shall establish and implement a human rights management system as well as related systems and policies so that the dignity and worth of human beings permeate all of our business activities and become ingrained in the organization's culture.
  • We shall strive to protect and advance the human rights of the socially disadvantaged and to respect the human rights of all stakeholders and employees, including customers, affiliated organizations, and local communities.
  • We shall not engage in employment-related or work-related discrimination based on race, gender, educational background, age, disability, religion, place of birth, and political opinion, among others, and strive for a culture of mutual respect and consideration within our organization.
  • We shall not tolerate any form of forced or child labor and abide by the laws of the countries in which we conduct business as well as the international standard for the minimum working age.
  • We shall adhere to the working hours and minimum wage requirements of the countries in which we conduct business.
  • We shall create a work environment that prioritizes the safety and health of our employees.
  • We shall guarantee employees' constitutionally guaranteed freedom of association and collective bargaining rights to protect and enhance their human rights.
  • We shall take proactive measures to prevent human rights violations, such as workplace and sexual harassment, and actively seek damage relief.
  • We shall pursue win-win development as an equal partnership with our partners, and support and collaborate on human rights management.
  • We shall not use raw materials and products, such as conflict resources, produced illegally, unethically, or in violation of human rights.
  • We shall safeguard personal data obtained in the course of management and business implementation.
  • We shall abide by domestic and international environmental laws and regulations, and strive for carbon neutrality, environmental preservation, biodiversity, and circular economy.
  • We shall prevent human rights violations in the business process in advance and provide prompt and appropriate remedies when they do occur.

We commit to establishing and propagating human rights management as stated above.
